Neither! Try ‘Static Grass Applicator’.

If you have a large piece of terrain that needs ‘flocking’ the usual approach is to apply some white glue and gently sprinkle the ‘grass’ onto it. The result is usually acceptable and sometimes a disaster, I usually get join lines and/or an uneven coverage.

The answer is to use a ‘Static Grass Applicator’, I got mine a few weeks ago and have only just tried it out (see picture below).

To the left the basic terrain to the right terrain with grass applied, just follow the instructions and you will get brilliant results. You can change colours part way through to merge from one colour tone to another the give a more natural look.

If you have large areas of terrain to apply a grass effect to then I would recommend one of these, although I would also recommend a few practice runs first on scrap material.
